LEONARD H. WARING, Builder/Developer/Broker is the Managing Broker for Johnson Waring Realty Company serving the Great Smoky Mountain areas of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville as well as the counties of Sevier, Blount and Knox. He has lived in Sevier County since 1972 and is an entrepreneur on many levels owning and operating various businesses. He has been a licensed Real Estate Agent in Sevier County since 1981 and a Broker for 30 years. With a keen eye for residential development, he designed several Sevier County neighborhoods including Sunrise Meadows, Belle Meadows, Summerfield, Creekwalk, Tuckahoe View and the Tradition. In 1992, he was licensed as a General Contractor and became more active in commercial real estate. In addition to construction projects in Knox County, Leonard locally developed the Business Park, Fox Meadows Business Park, Veterans Business Park and sold and built local doctors’ offices, banks, office buildings, numerous residential subdivisions, restaurants and warehouse space.
Always active in the community, Leonard spearheaded the donation of labor and materials, providing his own work crew, for the construction of the Little League Concession building at Sevierville City Park and indoor baseball facilities in Pigeon Forge. With fellow agent James Conner, they constructed an indoor baseball facility for Sevier County High School. Leonard has served on the Great Smoky Mountain Board of Realtors, Sevierville Regional Planning Commission and is a past director of the Knox County Homebuilders Association. He was also a Founding/Charter Member of the Seymour Rotary Club and has worked tirelessly with youth sports groups and is an organizer and member of the Smoky Mountain Celebration which was successful in raising over $250,000.00 donated to Cure Finders, who raises funds for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis and other local charities.
Leonard has been married for 35 years and has two children; his daughter teaches school in Fountain City and his son works as an analyst in a Manhattan law firm. Leonard attended the University of Tennessee and has completed numerous national courses in building and development.
Leonard now specializes in commercial and residential real estate sales with an emphasis on commercial. He has long-time experience in the real estate business and first-hand knowledge of this area, which makes selecting Leonard as Broker or Agent for real estate needs a wise choice.
